Septic Repair Cost-Share Program

Do you have an aging or failing Septic System?

Limestone Valley RC&D Council has partnered with County Environmental Health Departments and Georgia EPD to offer assistance to homeowners in repairing aging and failing septic systems.

Qualifying Areas (see map below):

  • Salacoa Creek (Gordon, Bartow, Pickens, Cherokee Counties)

  • Coahulla Creek (Walker and Whitfield Counties)

  • Chattanooga Creek (Dade and Walker Counties)

  • Lookout Creek (Dade County)

  • South Chickamauga Headwaters (Catoosa, Whitfield, Walker Counties)

What is the Program?

Limestone Valley RC&D is working with County Environmental Health Departments to promote the repair of failing septic systems.  The Septic Repair Cost-Share Program shares the cost of repairing failing septic systems with the homeowner.

Limestone Valley RC&D will reimburse the homeowner for a percentage of the septic repair costs.

Who can be in the program?

The only requirements are:

  • You are located in a qualifying area (see map below)

  • Your septic system is in need of repair or replacement.

  • Project be completed according to all applicable local and state regulations (permitted repair)

Why are we doing this?

Limestone Valley RC&D works to promote conservation and improve water quality in the Northwest Georgia region. By repairing failing septic systems, we can reduce the levels of fecal coliform, pathogens, and E. coli in our local waterways.

Where are the qualifying areas?
